Chris Floyd Named President of C.E. Floyd Company
December 23rd, 2014
After leading C.E. Floyd Company through 25 years of growth, Chuck Floyd has decided to move to the role of Chairman and hand the President position over to his son, Chris Floyd, effective January 1, 2015.
Chuck started C.E. Floyd Company during the real estate recession of 1989 after the Weitz Company, a national firm, decided to close its New England regional office. He had a three-room office and furniture left behind by Weitz. “I remember our first day in business,” commented Chuck. “There were three of us: a secretary, an estimator and me. We didn’t receive a single phone call the whole day, so I picked up the phone and started calling everybody I knew.” Today, C.E. Floyd Company operates in four New England States with offices in Massachusetts and Connecticut and has 64 employees.
Chuck Floyd said, “I am extremely proud of being a part of creating opportunities for great careers for all of our employees including both in the field and the office. We have a strong commitment to providing a good place to work including good pay, benefits and long-term career opportunities. We have always worked diligently to be a good corporate citizen.”
“This talented and loyal team has provided excellent service to our customers throughout my tenure as President,” continued Chuck. “I am sure it will continue, as it is part of our DNA.”
Chuck began developing a succession plan with Chris in 2004, which included both a management and ownership succession plan. Chris has been a shareholder and a member of the leadership team since 2008. Chris is currently Vice President of Administration, in charge of Business Development, Finance, Administration, and Marketing. Chris developed experience in many other roles by contributing as a member of the Business Development team, a Project Manager, a Project Engineer and an Assistant Superintendent. Before Chris attended Babson College’s MBA program, he was also a Field Engineer and Assistant Superintendent for John Moriarty and Associates.
Chris’s experience in all areas of the business and strong relationship with the leadership team ensure that C.E. Floyd Company will continue to grow and strengthen under his leadership. "In the last year, we have made substantial investments in training and improvements to our organizational structure to manage our growth while maintaining the highest standards for quality, service and value for our clients” said Chris Floyd. "I am excited to work with the excellent team members at C.E. Floyd Company and all of our long-term clients.”
