Want to know more about the things we care about? Here are the big ones. If they resonate with you and your team, let's talk!
"Time and time again, the team from C.E. Floyd impressed us with their ability to tackle seemingly-insurmountable challenges. Moreover, they viewed those challenges as opportunities to improve the project and outcome. I have been involved in other successful school building projects, but they paled in comparison to this partnership and level of success."
Dr. Benjamin N. Powers, Head of School, The Southport School
We're hard on problems, not on people.
We pride ourselves on being "firm but fair." We build team alignment on clear standards and goals, and we hold ourselves to them – but we also make sure those standards and goals are attainable for all involved. When issues arise, we ask “why” vs. “who” to get to the root cause – to encourage a blame-free, problem-tackling environment. Because when we give and demand our best, while treating each other fairly, every challenge is an opportunity to showcase what we can do together.
Be prepared. Be honest.
While there’s nothing more exciting than the ribbon-cutting, we know that our team typically adds the most value in the pre-construction process. We’ve walked sites with owners before the land is even purchased to discuss ways to overcome potential challenges. We’ve proposed alternative ideas to save money, accelerate schedules, and exceed expectations. And our clients appreciate that we’re just as honest during our “audition” as we are when the project officially kicks off. We ask the right questions and offer realistic guidance to drive more certainty and confidence into the process.
Accountability is our "glue."
For our team, accountability is more than doing what we say we’ll do (although that’s certainly a key part of it). It’s the “glue” that binds commitment to results. It’s encouraging every member of our team to think proactively and own their work. It’s taking initiative with thoughtful, strategic follow-through. And most importantly, it’s doing the right thing – for our team, our clients, and our communities.
Our work is about service and stories.
Our best wins go well beyond project facts and figures. The truest measure of our success is how well we take care of our clients and ultimately, how that support allows them to better serve their clients. And those wins live in our stories… Stories of how we work hard and play hard with everyone on the team. Stories of those ah-ha moments that deliver a surprising solution. And stories of the special project details – often ones not typically found in a plan – that bond people to the spaces we build for our clients.
