A Modular Construction Containment System that Checks All the Boxes

August 18th, 2020

Temporary wall partitions have come a long way.

We recently bought our own supply of STARC panels after renting them for one of our hospital renovations and experiencing firsthand the benefits of this system over other temporary wall systems.

Modular systems like STARC are frequently taking the place of drywall or polycarbonate partitions and for good reason. Drywall partitions are time-consuming and costly to build. They also create a lot of waste, since they can’t be reused. Polycarbonate isn’t a durable option and can’t be customized to meet a facility’s look.

There are several modular construction containment systems on the market now. Here’s why we chose STARC:

  • Easy to install and reconfigure: The ease of installation saves both time and money on labor costs. The panels also come in a variety of sizes, so you can customize the setup to your needs.
  • Noise reduction: These panels are insulated for noise reduction cutting down noise by up to 50%.
  • Reusable and durable: Because the panels can be reused for years and they resist scratching and denting, they significantly cut down on waste.
  • Infection control: This system exceeds ICRA Class IV requirements when installed properly.
  • Dust control: Panels won’t trap dust and debris and can be sanitized with common cleaners and disinfectants.
  • Class A Fire & Smoke Rated: The entire system is tested and listed ASTM E-84 Class A performance for fire and smoke spread.
  • Clean look: The white panels are free from branding, unlike some other systems, giving your temporary walls a clean look. However, if you’d like the panels customized, we can have a vinyl wrap applied to the panels.

Other systems meet some of these standards but not all of them. For example, some don’t meet healthcare requirements or can only be reused a few times before they need to be replaced or don’t have the clean look. STARC Systems are unique in that they seem to cover it all.

We’re currently using these panels on a healthcare project, in a grocery store renovation and at a senior living community. We’re not the only ones who think STARC is a great option; the company’s revenue has grown 438% in the last three years placing it on the Inc. 5000 list for the second year in a row.
