Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager plays a key role supporting the Project Managers in building and delivering exceptional services to our clients’ specific goals and concerns. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience for long-term growth and advancement at the company, with exposure to both administrative (in-office) and field operations.

We have an opportunity for a full-time Assistant Project Manager working out of our Bedford, MA office. Ideal candidate has 3+ years of commercial construction experience.

How You’ll Make a Difference

In this role, you'll assist the Project Manager with the project set up, implementation, closeout, financial management and relationship management. You'll also:

  • Manage, mentor and hold accountable project engineers assigned to you
  • Knowledgeable of procurement management and material tracking
  • Knowledgeable of buyout scope and contractor negotiation including contract writing
  • Knowledgeable about change order review and management
  • Proficient in the commercial construction document management process
  • Proficient in Submittal and RFI management
  • Basic understanding of project scheduling and risk management
  • Understanding of MEP coordination
  • Engaged in safety/quality control of the project
  • Ability to lead meetings when necessary
  • Weekly travel to job sites and regular communication with subcontractors and project field staff, maintaining all documentation and following up when needed to ensure continuous progress

As Assistant Project Manager, you'll benefit from ongoing training and mentorship to build onto 3+ years of previous experience working in a commercial construction management environment. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or field preferred OR 3+ years of related experience in a commercial construction environment 
  • Construction documentation process from past field or other related industry experience
  • Experience managing small projects or as part of a project team on larger, more complex projects
  • Experience using Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera Scheduling, CAD/REVIT, and Timberscan helpful, as well as proficiency in MS Office programs, including but not limited to Access, Project, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proactive communication with a willingness to learn, adapt, and follow through on a consistent basis
  • Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
