Going Above and Beyond at Fairfield Country Day School

July 22nd, 2013 by Catie McMenamin

We added a second floor to this classroom building, completely renovated the first floor and installed a new brick facade to match an historic building next to it – all in just 11 weeks.

Early last September while we were working on punchlist items at Fairfield Country Day School, a quick five-minute microburst came through Fairfield and made the school’s outdoor classroom unusable. A tree had been struck by lightening, several were blown over and many others lost limbs. The owner was visibly shaken by the damage and worried the classroom would be unusable for quite some time. The CEF team took charge and said they would get the site cleaned up that very day. Two hours later a local demolition sub was clearing the trees and cutting down broken branches. The next morning a landscaper was on site to finish the job. Class was held outside again at 10:30 the morning after the microburst.

The outdoor classroom was not connected with our project whatsoever, so the CEF team did not have to react the way they did, yet they chose to go above and beyond to help the client. This is a great example of how C.E. Floyd Company serves its clients.

We are working at Fairfield Country Day School again this summer, on a project we negotiated, because of our previous performance and service to the school.

How have we gone above and beyond for you on one of your building projects?
