Field Engineer
Massachusetts Office

Job Summary

Reporting to the Project Superintendent, the Field Engineer oversees and manages temporary field workers, company laborers and carpenters reporting on project status.

We have an opportunity for a full-time Field Engineer working out of our Bedford, MA office.  Ideal candidate has 1-3 years of some commercial construction field experience.

How You'll Make a Difference

In this role, here's how you'll assist the Project Superintendent:

  • Responsible for company owned equipment, tools and material
  • Coordinate with Field Operations Mgr. for proper maintenance of company owned equipment
  • Conduct safety inspection checks of fire extinguishers, company and rental equipment
  • Assist with the implementation of the site specific safety program to ensure subcontractor compliance
  • Depending on the project, may be the Project Safety Officer
  • Report manpower on the job by each trade
  • Assist in the preparation of the daily construction reports
  • May do daily construction reporting on Prolog
  • Coordinate inspection with the independent testing lab
  • Perform line and grade work for building lay-out and control as required
  • Monitors construction activities to ensure work is accurate
  • Ensure Quality Control for aspects of work designated by the Project Superintendent
  • Inspect construction site daily and work with subcontractors to schedule and facilitate deliveries
  • Assist in the preparation of the project As-Builts

As Field Engineer, you’ll benefit from ongoing training and mentorship to build onto 1 to 3 years’ previous experience working in a commercial construction management environment. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • BS degree in construction management or related field OR 3 years of related experience in a commercial construction environment and a fundamental knowledge of the construction documentation process desired
  • 1-3 years of commercial construction experience
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam and Excel and Procore knowledge is helpful
  • Strong problem solving/critical thinking ability
  • Ability to become part of a team and embrace the team concept
  • Ability to work in adverse settings and climate conditions
  • Ability to prioritize tasks depending on emergency responsibilities
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • OSHA 30 desired
  • Valid driver’s license and viable, reliable transportation
