Nate Seiler Promoted to Project Executive

Born in Switzerland and raised on a dairy farm in Vermont, Nate Seiler learned the value of a strong work ethic through hands-on farm work. "Nate’s values from his family seamlessly translated to C.E. Floyd. Then using his work ethic and growing from that foundation positioned him very well to help others on their journey," says COO Chuck Tobin.
Nate's background and work ethic will allow him to lead by example, which is why as of January 1, we have promoted him to Project Executive. In this new role, Nate will build and guide project managers in Massachusetts by providing tools and insight. He will also be involved in risk management as his breadth of experience makes him an administrative asset.
Project Executive Nate Seiler
As a child, Nate loved cars and grew to become interested in engineering. He enrolled in engineering classes, which ended up pushing him toward architecture. After studying Architecture at Wentworth Institute of Technology and participating as a COOP at architecture firms, Nate realized he wanted a faster pace and made the switch to construction.
“I was walking to class one day, and there was a career fair. Chris Floyd (President and CEO) and Diana (Director of HR) were there, and I ended up talking to them. They invited me for an interview and I’ve been here ever since,” Nate tells of his introduction to the company.

When Nate first joined C.E. Floyd as a Project Engineer in 2010, he worked with preconstruction manager Chris Merrick on a project with Concord Free Public Library. Nate names Chris as one of his mentors that guided him early on in his construction career.
“It has been a real pleasure seeing Nate excel at C.E. Floyd. From his first project as a project engineer for Concord Library (Fowler branch) to his recent completion of the Concord Library Main Branch as a senior project manager, and now as project executive. He worked with me as a project engineer on many other projects including one or two at Thayer Academy, Dedham Country Club, and Spencer Brewery. I take full credit for all his bad habits!” says Merrick.
Nate’s deep understanding of executing a project is rooted in how he’s fueled by teamwork and collaborative problem-solving. “Building strong relationships with the people who make it happen” sparks joy for Nate. “There’s a lot of things that can go wrong and a lot of difficult situations on a construction project. We all work together to solve them and finish a project that we’re all proud of.”
Making clients happy with a project is a goal that Nate strives to exceed in every project. When starting a new project, there are new, varying personalities and chemistries involved. His strong sense of empathy and teamwork makes Nate someone who we can rely on to perform consistently and successfully.
Every project is unique with a brand-new set of challenges and problems to solve, making Nate’s work at C.E. Floyd nothing short of dynamic. Nate is obsessed with the satisfaction of solving problems, which there is no shortage of when it comes to managing projects. Nate’s experience with and passion for solving these problems and the joy he finds in collaboration are what will make him an effective and commendable Project Executive.
“I’m kind of defining the position as we go,” Nate explains about his new role. Since we haven’t had a Project Executive in our Massachusetts office, Nate is playing a unique role in the development of our company. We’re excited and hopeful for what he’ll bring to the role!
Nate would like to thank his parents for instilling in him a strong work ethic, and all of his mentors and colleagues from C.E. Floyd.
